The Nest Within
Life is something we slowly unfold from the inside. This piece was inspired by a book that gathered reflections from those at the end of their lives. When time is running out, what people regret is not fame or possessions… but just three things that truly matter: Good health they once took for granted, relationships they had neglected, and their true self they never dared to become.
This work is expressed through 3 nested eggs, layered from the inside out.
1. The Smallest Egg : “Health First, Everything Follows” - Lobster and coral represent strength and balance from within. Health is the foundation of all.
2. The Middle Egg : “Cherish People, Not Things” - The wolf symbolizes the loyalty of a pack and the comfort of belonging. Peony flowers represent deep, genuine love. Together, they remind us that relationships nourish the heart more than any possession ever could.
3. The Largest Egg : “Be Bold, Be You” - The peacock and hydrangea reflect the courage to live truthfully and gracefully. Only when we understand ourselves can we shine without hesitation.
The Nest Within gently reminds us: without good health, without people who truly see and stand beside us… How can we ever be fully ourselves?
